Whether an organization is a small local entity, or a large global concern, success should be measured across the three Ps, profit, people, and planet. I like to think of them as making up the three part frame of a soccer goal post.
- Profit – means at minimum a lack of a loss. As someone once said to me, even Not-for-Profits need to be run as Not-for-Loss, if they want to stay in existence;
- People – form the core of an organization, and drive its values. The most prevalent measure is employee satisfaction;
- Planet – supports the organization with physical resources such as energy and water. An organization’s process should be sustainable and environmentally discerning.
